Jim Potter moved to accept them and Lisa Frantzis 2nd.  The motion passed.

Lake Smart Program

Samantha Parkman and Sam Gerossie presented a Power Point on NH Lakes Assn Lake Smart Program available to all NH residents; especially those with waterfront access.

 

60-90% of polluted water in NH is from water runoff.

We can do more to protect our pond; no fertilizers, divert run-off, etc.  Sign up at the link above to take the first step!   

 

If 15% of us sign up we can be a “Lake Smart Community”.  Let’s go!

 

In the meantime:  Don’t rake the beach, don’t use fertilizers with phosphorus and nitrogen;

make sure your septic is well maintained, and more.

Wildlife: John Brouder

2 goose families: 12 total

 

 

3 loons: rumor of a chick

Lots of rabbits, deer, etc.

John will be sending out a questionnaire about wildlife sightings in the coming weeks

 

Beaver activity ( tree felling) was noted 

 

Treasurer: Amy McGregor-Radin

The TPCA is in good shape financially; the Fidelity accounts are earning 4.5%-5.5%. Our TD Bank accounts are being maintained. 

 

Biggest expense is the salary line for our paid Lake Hosts.

Dam Report Jonathan Birge

Jonathan put boards in April 22, 2024

 

Amy M-R noted that the target dates are the third Wednesday in April and third Wednesday in October   

 

2024 is a three boards out year—done one week apart.

Jonathan  will notify downstream neighbors  of the board ins and outs with Wendy Webster and John Brouder’s help

 

Gordon Services will be called to help with the boards if Jonathan is not available or if it is an ASAP situation.

 

 

This is a good year to clean up waters’ edge of debris.

Two more tests scheduled for this summer 

The phosphorus levels were a bit on high side in one sample (deep) spot

 

We all can help by avoiding run-off; limiting or eliminating fertilizers etc.   

Weed Watching: David Nash

Thanks to the team who monitor an area monthly. No invasive species to date

The team needs 1-2 additional members to paddle or row in an assigned area.  CONTACT:

Lake Hosting: Jim Potter

Thanks to the team who help. 

 

6 paid lake hosts this year covering 62 hours. $15-16/hour (depending on how many years the host has been working as Lake Host

 

 Wa-Klo campers volunteer  2 hrs/day 4 days/week.   )

 

All NH lakes with active host program have avoided infestation.

Motion made by Paul Santos.

Carol Greenwald 2nd.  Motion passed.

Proposed by-law changes

 

1) Change to up to 9 board members:  John Brouder motion to accept changes WITH AMENDMENT of wording—last line will read “President may appoint….”

Motion to accept as amended passed

 

2) Changing membership paragraph to be more inclusive—i.e. changing husband or wife to spouse. 

 

Carol Greenwald made motion to accept.  Jim Potter 2nd.  Motion carried.

Dues remain at $200/per property this year.

David Nash presented Slate of Officers and Board members

 

Jim Potter motioned to accept the slate as presented.  Paul Santos 2nd.

As there was not opposition or nominations from the floor, the slate was accepted.

 

Steve Magoun was thanked for his 4 years of great leadership.  Members rotating off were also thanked.

She reminded us to slow down, and to tell guests and contractors to do the same.   Many curves are blind; walkers and bikers at risk
